    Description

This sword is equipped with a good 2 edged blade Crescent moons are stamped into the blade as manufacturer's marks. This is supposed to indicate a European manufacture, but this is not necessarily certain, as local blacksmiths also copied these marks,so that it can also be a blade that was made by a local Swordsmith. The handle is made up of three parts and consists of a beautiful dark horn. It is complete but but a little bumped and has 2 small holes on the underside of the upper end that could have been made by insects.at the tang of these sword was riveted an old italian silvercoin from the reign of the last italien king vittorio emmanuel 3. ( he ruled from 1900- 1946) This sword is thought to date from the beginning of the 20th century when Ethiopia was still a Christian empire. The sword is in good condition, the blade has no nicks in the cutting edge and it is not rusted or covered with rust scars, only the surface is scratched as can be clearly seen in the pictures. But these scratches are not deep.
The blade has a length of 810 mm and a width of 43 mm. the complete length of the sword is 930 mm.
