    Description

    English Victorian silver-plated and mother of pearl dessert set, ca 1840. This set comprises 36 pieces: 18 forks and 18 knives. Forks have 4 tines and knives have straight blades with curved end. Engraved scrolling leaves and flowers. Shoulder has double-sided scrolled frames (vacant). Mother-of-pearl handle with carved double-sided terminal. In stained-wood case with felt-lining and 2 detachable trays.
    Each piece has stamp for A. Hastfield, who was active in Sheffield in the first half of the 19th century.
