    Description

This specimen of wernerite is originally from Otter Lake, Quebec.
In daylight the specimen looks like white & light grey rock - like something you would never pick up unless you knew what it was (photos #8 & 9).
Using our Convoy S2 long wave flashlight, the wernerite glows
    bright yellow
    (photos #1-4).
It has some of the brightest LW color that we have ever seen!  Photo #2 was taken with the flashlight held just behind the camera, and the wernerite glows so brightly it looks white!
The beam is so narrow that Gail had to move all the way across our darkroom so that the other LW
    photos
would appear the bright yellow color that we could see with our eyes.  (No, we are not trying to promote the Convoy S2 flashlights, we are just impressed with how bright a beam it puts out!)
The specimen also glows a duller
    yellow,
with quite a few patches of
    pretty blue diopside,
    in short wave (photos #5-7).
    Weighs 5.0 oz. & measures 2.5 x 2.0 x 1.5 inches (#Wern-56).
